Geek Bar not working: blinking, not hitting, burnt taste
A checklist for a Geek Bar that blinks, will not hit, tastes burnt or will not charge: what to check, and in what order.
The five-minute checklist
- Charge it first, whatever the symptom. A flat battery can explain a blinking light, weak vapour and a dead screen. It only takes a USB-C cable to rule out.
- Read the screen. Every device in the range except the Meloso has a display. A tank reading empty is not a fault: the device has finished its liquid.
- Open the airflow. On devices with airflow control, a slider nudged shut can mute the draw.
- Clear the mouthpiece. Condensation can collect there. Clear it and draw gently.
- Then contact us. Liquid showing, charge showing, airflow open, and still nothing: a device that arrives faulty is covered by returns.
What to check on each device
- Geek Bar Pulse X 2 100K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Pulse 2 80K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- STLTH x Geek Bar 80K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Pulse X 25K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Skyview 25K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Digiflavor Lush 20K: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Pulse 9000: the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Meloso 9000: there is no screen, so charge it and try again; there is no airflow control to check.
- Geek Bar Pulse X 2 50K (5%): the screen shows the battery and tank; there is no airflow control to check.
- Geek Bar Pulse 2 25K (5%): there is no screen, so charge it and try again; there is no airflow control to check.
- Geek Bar Pulse X 25K (5%): the screen shows the battery and tank; it has adjustable airflow, so check that first.
- Geek Bar Pulse 15000 (5%): there is no screen, so charge it and try again; there is no airflow control to check.
- BRK device: the screen shows the battery and e-liquid level. Pods connect magnetically, so take the pod off and reconnect it, and check it is a Geek Bar BRK pod.
Questions, answered
- Why is my Geek Bar blinking?
- The first thing to rule out is a flat battery. Charge it over USB-C and try again.
- Why is my Geek Bar not hitting?
- Work down the list: charge the battery, open the airflow if your device has it, check the screen’s tank level, and clear any condensation from the mouthpiece. If the screen shows liquid and charge and it still will not fire, contact us with your order number.
- Why does my Geek Bar taste burnt?
- A burnt taste usually means the coil is running short of liquid. If the tank reads low, the device is near the end of its life. Taking shorter draws can help, and it is worth stopping if the taste stays burnt.
- My Digiflavor Lush stops mid-draw. Is it broken?
- No. The Lush has a six-second cut-off on continuous draws. Let go and draw again.
